First things first, this may be the worst cliff hanger I've ever had the pleasure of reading. So horrible it might not be a pleasure.And it makes me incredibly glad I waited for the whole of the trilogy to be released before I started the series. The only thing I have to wait for is eight hours of sleep. And it'll be torture.It's sort of odd how much this trilogy feels like one story. Even discounting the cliffhanger, all that was accomplished in this novel was the competition and bringing all the characters together (not that she they stayed that way). And I've always looked at the second book in the series as the one that brings the characters back together, as something usually breaks 'em apart, but here it just feels so rounded and whole. I don't know how to explain what I'm thinking.These books are not at all like I expected. And it's a very good thing.There's London (I guess I expected that) and princes and pirates and thieves and cleverness and banter and stubbornly ruthless decisions and amazing world-building and a magical black market. And maybe my favorite magic item ever, Kell's coat.The writing is so good and so descriptive that I almost threw up when Lila was having a claustrophobic moment.I loved the competition, even though it wasn't really unique, and I loved Lila's magic lessons (if you know anything about me you know these are two of my favorite things) but all I wanted while reading was to have Lila and Alucard and Rhys and Kell in one room for longer than ten seconds.My main problem with the story isn't really a problem but my own impatience and that's how we were made to wait over 50% of the book before Kell and Lila crossed paths, and no matter how amazing Alucard is I bought the book to see the two of them together.Yeah, I'm totally reading this series purely for the characters.They're just so real and smart and funny and different and I want them all to be happy.I love how Lila has kept her roots and how she can't not think like she's living alone on the streets. I love how Kell hasn't lost his demeanor and how he cares for others. And I love Rhys' humor, of course, but also the way he cares about everyone else's happiness over his own life. And I love Alucard and the way he deals with Lila and, well, everything else about him too.Don't disappoint me, A Conjuring of Light, or words will be had.

The first book was good, but guys, this book was GREAT. A Darker Shade of Magic set the stage, introduced the characters, but AGOS truly stepped it up. It wasn’t exactly full of gripping action, but it was more of a slow buildup to an incredible climax. I NEED the next book. The writing and storytelling was absolutely wonderful and I can’t wait to jump back into Kell and Lila’s parallel worlds.The book opens with Lila joining a crew of her own aboard the Night Spire, let by captain Alucard Emery– an excellent addition to the series and one of my new favorite characters. Lila works with Alucard to develop her magical ability, but there is still the question of what Lila is. How powerful is she, really?Back in London, Kell and Rhy are as close as ever after Kell bound his life to Rhy. They are actually a little too close for comfort- they feel each other’s emotions, pain, and nightmares. Rhy had some of his own chapters in this book and he really grew on me. He is more complex than I gave him credit for!Much of the book focuses on the the Essen Tach, a competition between magicians. It is through this competition that Kell and Lila finally reunite and I couldn’t have been happier. Honestly, one of my only complaints is that they spend so much time apart. Obviously it worked well with the plot but they spent so much time thinking about each other that I couldn’t wait for them to cross paths. The Essen Tach was an exiting story in itself, but we get hints of something even bigger brewing in the short chapters from White London. However, the Essen Tach was an great addition to the story line- it really highlighted the different kingdoms in this world, and the different types of magicians in it. Plus, how could you not get excited about seeing some of our favorite characters battle it out in the arena?Aside from the well-thought out story line, I was pleased from the incredible character development from Kell, Lila and Rhy. Lila is as bold as ever, Kell as rash, and Rhy as flirtatious but they all have such complex personalities that I thoroughly enjoying delving into each one of them.And finally, that ending. It was so explosive and brilliant. I can’t wait to read the next book. I still have so many questions about Kell, Lila, Rhy and Alucard. About the fate of White, Gray, Red and Black London. I’m hoping these are answered in the next book

Riley bought land from a friend, got in his truck with his little girl and hoped to build a life, a pride, a family that he could be proud of and that his mate would come back for.I have read all of Sandra Neeley's books and she is one of my favorite authors, yes I have several, don't judge. This book is just a good as the others.The Riley character was first introduced in the Avaleigh's Boys series. In that series, we don't a lot about him, just enough to know that we want more. Then we learn that Maia is his mate, well then he has to stuck around! But then he leaves, and without Maia. Ms. Neeley set us up really well to be looking for this book.This author is able to let me feel the story through her writing. I laugh with characters, get angry with them, cry with them, sometimes even get angry AT them, I think that takes talent and is why I like this book so much. Each of these characters have something that draws me in and has me hoping that their story is next. Not every author can do that. This is a keeper. RECOMMENDED

Riley’s story is a complex tapestry woven from past and present experience, providing the inspiration for his new Pride. The people he gathers around him are wonderful additions to his community, whether human, full shifters, or not. Each has been at odds with the situation they’ve been in and soon find themselves entwined in Riley’s group, loving the camaraderie.I am enjoying all the characters in Riley’s Pride, looking forward to seeing where the future takes them. Seeing Avaleigh and the rest is the icing on the cake!

Riley's Pride is the start of a new series that will occasionally have characters from her Avaleigh's Boys series make appearances. That said, this new world comes with its own unique story of just what exactly makes a family...a family. Blood doesn't make a family, it's the caring and the loyalty among the people in the family group. Riley's Pride is exactly that, family dynamics of a chosen family and not a related one. Ms. Neeley's books have all been well written, with characters that the reader can connect with on so many levels. Her stories are imaginative, along with being very relatable to real life because of the emotions she puts on the pages. I highly recommend any of her books.

This book was sooo good I couldn’t put it down. I am so in love with Riley and the other characters in the book,I actually thought while reading that I wanted to be a part of this new pride he is creating this book had it all, romance, adventure , suspense , and some kick ass action scenes ( Maia’s scene with her protecting the gas tanks , so well written)Sandra does an amazing job of weaving all the storylines together , making a reader feel like they are part of the action.Love how each new member of the Pride is introduced and Sandra makes you root for them all.Can’t wait for the next book , highly recommend this new series.

Riley's Pride is a fantastic new book from Sandra R Neeley. She writes her characters and new worlds so well that I laugh and cry and get angry along with her characters. Her characters involve the reader so much that I actually felt like I was one of Riley's Pride. Riley accepts lost souls and makes them all one diverse family. I love this story and can not wait for the next books about all Neeley's new characters. I could not put it down until I finished reading. Neeley has a true talent for making her readers feel for and with her characters. Loved this book; read it soon.

All I know, is I want to be a member ofRiley’ pride. Sandra has a way of drawingyou in and you never wanting to leave.It’s not many author’s the can makeher secondary characters strong andlikable without taking over. So I will trypatiently to wait for book two but it won’tbe easy. Will be rereading Avaleigh’s Boys,that’s how great your stories are to me.Thanks for taking me to a different butnot so perfect place with such love!!!

I have seen this authors name around and seen a few of her books but have not read any until now. I asked some friends for suggestions on what to read and this book kept coming up so I grabbed it ans am so glad I did. Were panthers, bears, wolf, tiger and even a gorilla plus an un-shiftable male and a human, what a great mismatch group of drifters who find themselves and a pack/pride/family with each other. A great PNR and I would recommend this book.

I have enjoyed this author since I bought carnage. I look forward to any book she writes. Worth every read.

My husband ordered this for me, because I've been on a nail biting binge.You think you're getting this book full of information, and it's more of a workbook. There are about 5 pages of information, and the rest of it is a workbook to fill out. And in those 5 pages, it mainly references her skin-picking book, which is highly rated... but something else you have to buy.To be honest, maybe this would be helpful with my nails if I gave it a shot. But getting up in the morning and before I got to bed "journaling" about my nail biting isn't on my priority list. Yeah, I know this means I'm probably plagued to nail bite the rest of my life. Maybe this works for some people.I feel like the author had success with the skin picking book (kudos to her!), but then thought she's cash in on the idea with this workbook. I'm not that big of a fan of workbooks, let a lone this one.

As a black man who grew up admiring brother Gregory, I had to check out his book, and it didn't disappoint. Funny at times, entertaining, and most of all, informative and inspiring, I want to share this book with my loved ones. Dick Gregory is a hero to our people.

I like the idea that Dick Gregory introduced so many subjects and covered them in few words. It is a great review of our history with civil and human rights.He made it clear that Black history is such an important part of America's history. Everything is written in such words as "my grandmother would understand them" as he always said.

Excellent reading. This book should be apart of every history class and/or should be apart of the summer reading for students.

I love Dick Gregory. In this book, he discusses much of history that many students of the subject are acquainted with and much that may not be known. In either case it is like Baba Gregory is speaking directly with you. He was a great man who lived a great life. It is both humorous and serious- like its author.

I am reading the book and so far it meets all of my expectations. Dick Gregory's books are very informative, enjoyable and keeps you engaged from the beginning to the end.

I'm so glad to be informed in a way that's not insulting, but fun.....

an in-depth reflection of life depicted from a genius point of view. Dr. Gregory takes the reader by the hand and actually allows the reader to smell the flowers and see the poison ivy at each season in his life and at each chapter in human history living in these United States of America.

I always loved Dick Gregory and his sense of humor and this book did not disappoint, he told it like it is. Great story teller. He will be missed.
